•OK, but why? The idea came from a large event held in Redmond, OR each summer where thousands of people gather in strange modified cars and compete to pick up the most trash. GPS waypoints are given to known trash problems, and attendees are encouraged to drive the back roads of Oregon to get there. Dozens of large dumpsters await at camp to collect the trash. Many attendees have commented that they wish there was a video game version so they could have a digital experience when not at the event. •Who's behind it? Portland, OR 3D artist, composer and amateur race car driver Jesse Mattson is the nuts and the bolts, with close collaboration with the Gambler 500 and it's vast community of earth-conscious off-road enthusiasts. Several Kickstarter backers are contributing to mission / quest ideas. • What software is being used? The main tool is Unreal Engine 5 for the game engine. Blender is used to create 3D models. Both are free programs available to anyone. PolyCam is used for scanning real-world cars and locations.
